What we Support

We seek to pray for and help the work of the Church of Scotland overseas. Here is the Facebook page of the World Mission Council  (20+) Church of Scotland World Mission Council | Facebook

We remember and pray for those Christians who are persecuted in other lands and do not enjoy the freedom of worship we have. Open Doors UK Serving Persecuted Christians Worldwide - Home - Open Doors UK & Ireland campaigns for persecuted Christians.

The High Church is proud to support Christian Aid as it works in partnership with local groups and churches to assist and campaign for the world's poor. 2021 marks the 75th anniversary of Christian Aid. Here is a short video showcasing 75 amazing years (798) Christian Aid – 75 years of real people, real change (Subtitled) - YouTube  In recent years, we have carried out door to door collections for Christian Aid Week; we have always been humbled by people's generosity towards the world's poor as our collections have raised between £500 and £900 a year.

Each Remembrance season we support Poppy Scotland Home | Poppyscotland and Erskine Erskine Care Homes- Caring for Veterans Since 1916, organisations which do great work helping those disabled or injured by wars and conflicts around the world.

The High Church has held events and organised training in partnership with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). MAF sends medical and relief work – and takes the gospel – to vulnerable people in hard to reach places across the world. More on MAF’s work can be found here. High Church members have also brought in packets and tins of food to support Airdrie Foodbank, operated by the Trussell Trust from three outlets in the Airdrie area. This page keeps donors up to date with what the Foodbank needs to help local people in crisis. Donate food | Airdrie Foodbank

High Church members have also brought in cleaning products and toiletries to give to an ecumenical charity, Home Comforts North Lanarkshire  (20+) Home Comforts North Lanarkshire | Facebook  These items are made up into starter packs to help people who are homeless or in other severe housing need. Two of our members are Trustees and on the Board of Management.

The overspill of books which we have been unable to sell in our successful High Church Bargain Corner have been donated to Oxfam under the Tag Your Bag scheme. Over the past three years, these books have raised over £1 000 for Oxfam's work with the world's poor.
